I was e-mailed on Wednesday saying that my amp was shipped from Thailand via UPS. Come home from fishing yesterday and a box labeled with nOrh was waiting on my back porch. Holy s**t was that fast!!!

I unpacked it and let it sit for awhile. Put in the tubes that Pro and I went halfsies on and fired it up. Now I was happy with the sound from the WAV8's but was told that if I liked them that I would be very happy with the SE-9. Guess what...they were right!!! What a clean, detailed sound. It really can make the Model 15's sing.

Now the crappy part. Doesn't it always seem when you get a new toy that you have to work the next couple of days and can't enjoy it right away? Oh well at least there is something to look forward to :D

I'll post more as I get more listening time.

Way to go, John. I know you're lovin' every minute of it while it's glowing away. My brother just ordered his Dared VP-16 integrated amp last week, and today the FedEx man delivered it to the house (he's working until 5 today, so I signed for it). Luckily my bro's off tomorrow, so he'll also be enjoying his tube amp along with his lastest pair of '94 Klipsch KG 3.2 horns he won a week prior on eBay.

And I'm still waiting for my replacement BEZ 300B SET to arrive from Hong Kong (sent the defective amp back via air parcel post on Feb. 9th, and I'm still waiting...)

So have you played a good recording of a vocal yet? If not do it soon, keep that song/recording for reference and play it to check out how the amp and tubes go through the little break in period. Welcome to the SE Club!

Thatch,

What would you consider a good recording? The only thing I really have are CD's from the stores. I don't have any real audiophile recordings, yet ;)

Okay Thatch, I don't know if you would consider this a good recording but I have been listening to "The Trinity Session" from the Cowboy Junkies and have been VERY impressed. It will be interesting to hear it the more the amp gets played.

Any of the latest CDs from Diana Krall and Norah Jones are audiophile quality. You'll notice their voices getting progressively smoother and more life-like the longer you break in your amp and its tubes. Just my opinion, natch!
