I have my dealer who has his own personal Ittok that he doesn't use anymore. So I am now awaiting him to install it, it should be ready tomorrow.
I have never upgraded a tonearm before. The lp12 came with an Akito. Most of what I have read the Ittok is supposed to be a big jump up. I am super anxious right now. I have no clue what to expect..:scratch2:

Grado Sonata, he's actually going to set it up for me, something I know how to do but he's got a lot more experience than me. :D
It even looks very very cool. Have to admit I am getting quite excited..

Can't wait to hear what you think of it. Definitely one of the pieces of gear I have always wanted.
I am sure you are gonna LOVE it!
Worth the wait! I'm running an Ittok with a Grado Sonata on my LP12. A wonderful combination.

Should be sometime around 6:00PM today.:thmbsp: He's got the arm on the turntable now he's in the process of getting the cartridge all set up. He found some flaws in the turntable that he's making a list of. He said the p-clip is ancient and doesn't really do what it's supposed to do.
He's not a linn dealer he used to be, he has the EAR turntable on display along with Nagra and Ayre componets. I got to listen to it yesterday. I had so much fun listening to that. It really had a live quality to it. Soundstage was amazing on some classical. I swear for a couple seconds I felt like I was in the auditorium.
Some of the Johnny Cash stuff he played was like I was sitting on the other side of the recording booth. I wanted to go out and buy that album after hearing it.
I just looked up the price of the EAR turntable, I had no CLUE how $$$ it was. I would put that in one of the top 5 systems I have ever heard, and he gets to listen to it EVERY DAY!!!
My old Cambridge Audio CD6 is zipping along, the Linn just smokes it though. My Fiance and I just agreed how it was lifeless compared to the Linn. It was fine tone-wise but I really didn't understand the whole PRAT thing until having a turntable.

As compared to before, I feel like I have the resolution of a CD player, on some songs a lot more presence.
It's weird this one song I know really well, all of a sudden in the lower bass, there were all these notes that were not there before. It surprised me. I knew the song well.
Tone wise it's getting closer to the esoteric on the "Money for Nothing" the guitars are a lot closer to what the Esoteric was doing. That's a really good thing :D
It's a lot more transparent. I feel like I get a lot more of what ever was on the record.
The background is quieter too. it "feels" like it plays louder at the same volume.
I've never heard a new lp12 with all the goodies. I still have the Basik power supply. So I know I still have a long way to go.
Now I at least I know tonearms can make a really big difference.
What's SACD ?????

Excellent!
Hard to believe how big the difference is until you experience it, isn't it? It's like you are finally starting to hear what is in the recording. At last, you can hear what the Sonata is capable of. Only problem is that, good as the Sonata is, your arm can now handle much better cartridges. just no end to this... :)
Enjoy!

Ahhh... the LVII! Happy to see that you're hearing the difference to what a solid arm can provide. Trust me, the speed/power improvements will pay you back again equally when your ready to take the leap. All the results you noticed will multiply again, detail, transparency, noise floor when you make the move to a Cirkus bearing (highly recommended), as well.
Happy (sound-deck) Listening! :beatnik:

Where's the cuing mechanism and the arm rest?

I bought it from a used to be Linn Dealer, it was his own personally Ittok. He described it as the hot rod version.
The price was a fair one, and I now have an arm rest that I picked up and that he is now installing, along with a restored Valhalla board, I had the basik power supply. I still have to find a cueing mechanism.
I listen to my records all the way thru so far, so it's not a huge issue. It's tough to find them though.
