Seller has this listed as a "Sansui" KD-3055, which is actually a Kenwood KD-3055! http://www.runemasterstudios.com/graemlins/images/doh2.gif
You know this TT, it's the one with the marble plinth... So it might go for less than usual, since the Kenwood collectors would not be looking for a KD-3055 in the Sansui listings!

I saw that also as I was checking the Sansui listings.

I don't get how a seller could make that mistake.

It may slip by a few, but anyone searching by model number KD-3055 will still find this. Plus its listed in a proper category so not exactly stealth for Kenwood or other collectors. Now if it were listed in furniture under "Tables" it might go unnoticed. :D

Never said it would go unnoticed, only said it might slip by some Kenwood collectors... and while $75 is no steal, it is not out of line, as long as it doesn't get bid up much more. It's the shipping that always scares me on a TT, I can't believe some of the sh*t packing jobs I've seen.

Yep, $75 seems like a decent price to me -- without the expense/risk of shipping (one of the many reasons I hate the eprey for buying stuff). I picked up one of these on local CL last week - just a few miles from my work.

Not exactly that close. 200 miles away and me no wants to go to Canada
I agree it's nice though. Still, although I'm in the market for one of these, I don't wana drive 200 miles (especially with gas @ $3.55 a gal.) and deal with a border crossing just to snag me a TT. :nono:

The problem with the 2055, 3055 and 5070 is that they LOOK like the higher end 500,550,600,650 because of the corian base. In reality, there is a world of difference between the two lines.

My father owned a 3055 and I owned a 5070. Then I stepped up to a 750, one step above the 650, and the difference was night and day. I am sure that the only reason the 500,550,600,650 don't sell for more and why the 2055, 3055, 5070 don't sell for less, is pure confusion.

That's the seller who screwed me on a Model 600 purchase about 3 or 4 years ago. Took him 2 months to ship, and arrived in a thin box with virtually zero packing material and totally beat to shit (this after he asked for additional funds for 'extra-special packing'). I managed to salvage the unit, but I've forever wanted to meet this slimeball face-to-face and beat him to a bloody pulp.:gigglemad

I hope that's not how you feel about the SX-1010. :scratch2:

What ever became of the 1010?

I am curious as to what the problem was.

You mean the 1010 that was rebuilt, reveneered, and given to AK founder Kamakiri after he was forced to sell his own beloved SX-1010? That receiver made one man very happy.
