Found 2 nice LPs yesterday at the GW. First is "The Best of Buffalo Springfield". The second is "Max" by The Rumor. Both of these vinyl were in mint condition, no scratches or marks. Looks like they were never played. Still had that shiny, glossy new record look! This is pretty amazing considering the Buffalo Springfield album will be 40 years old next year, was produced in 1969. The Rumor album was produced in 1977, just a little over 30 years old.
Maybe some of the older AKers will remember that Neil Young and Stephen Stills were original members of Buffalo Springfield. Boy, playing that album sure brought back some nice memories! :thmbsp:

I am not that old (32) and I knew they featured Young and Stills as well as Jimmy Messina and Richie Furay who were later in Poco (of course Messina would end up in Loggins and Messina--yuck!). Buffalo Springfield were much better than any of the bands that grew out of them (although the first two CSN and CSN&Y albums were very good).
Is this an original issue Buffalo Springfield album? Is it a yellow or a grey Atco label. If it is yellow, does it have the Rockerfeller or the 1841 Broadway address around the bottom of the record label (I don't think they ever changed it on the covers). It's a cool find either way, although I always thought the pre-1973 Atlantic/Atco records sounded a bit richer.

It has the yellow label with the 1841 Broadway address on it. So, I would assume this is an original issue. It has a copywrite of 1969 on it. Hard to believe it will be 40 years old next year!

That's amazing! Of course, I never cease to be amazed at what finds itself to the Goodwill.

Hey Will, they're advertising for a new manager at your local GW, maybe you should drop them a resume and get first dibs!

Yeah, maybe I should! I'm probably there more than they are! :D
But, I have found some really amazing things there, that you would never expect to find in a TS.

You officially suck, as in the you-found-something-rare-that-I-would-jump-up-and-down-to-find kind of way. I bought my copy, and it was too rough playing for me to really enjoy. I have most everything by Neil Young on CD now, that album sticks out as the one I really want on vinyl.
I'll keep lookin', cause that is the affliction. Someday...

Hey Will, my friend's band is playing at Mossy Creek in Waynesboro this Friday, I'm hoping to be there to help them with the PA. Let me know if you'd be interested in attending.

I have "Best of Buffalo Springfield" from back in my Record Club of America days. Man, it was exciting to see those flat cardboard boxes come in the mail.
I can think of many worse things to use my 100th post on than Buffalo Springfield.

Hey Ray! I can remember getting LPs from one of those "record of the month clubs". Forgot all about that until you mentioned it! Don't know what happened to them all. Between moves and a divorce, who knows? :sigh:
