Well my trip just got a little more expensive. I bought my tickets on line on DEC. 14th
Paid extra for paper tickets. And I was all set until today about 1:30 when Priceline calls me to tell me my 7:46 pm Sunday flight home is leaving at 3:28pm!!! 4 1/3 hours earlier.
SCREW THAT
So after getting what little info I could out of the gal that spoke some other language the English when at home. I called Frontier as it was them that dun canceled the flight. And after talking with a another gal I find out I have to now call US AIRWAYS since the ticket is under their controls as the departing flight at the start of the trip.
OK on to US Airways. Another gal that can barely speak english. But I manage to find out they have a flight leaving just a few minutes later then the one that got canceled. Of course it gets back into Portland no less then 3.5 hours later at 2:18 AM !!!! I live an hour from the airport. I have to work Monday morning. SO that will be fun look out for a 105,500 lb dump truck and pup with a sleepy driver come Monday.
Now get this Because my ticket is paper I have to go tot he Portland Airport no later then 8:00pm tomorrow to get the new tickets.
So I leave the middle of the wood working project I had hoped to get finished today to spend about 3 hours driving 100 miles round trip so I can stand and talk to a gal at the ticket counter for 15 minutes while three of them figure out how to get me my E tickets.
Additional cost so far
Gas to Portland 5.5 gal at $3.55 a gal. = $19.52
Parking = $3.00
Snack on way = $3.59
Wife can't possibly drop me off or pick me
up so parking for the weekend =$28.00
Having to drive my pickup to airport
again for the trip = $19.52
If wife drove me and picked me up -22.65 in gas in her car for both trips.
I now have a 3 hour lay over in Vegas
I know I'll at least eat something $8.00
I figure this little change just cost me. about $59.00
NOW I wonder how much music I could have bought at the Fest or how many drinks for my friends or what little audio toy I could have smuggled home for that $59.00

And a thank you to Amanda at US AIRWAYS for getting my new tickets with a smile and without causing me to end up being questioned by TSA cause I got insane dealing with this 6 days before I leave.
Oh lets not forget the 3+ hours of work time I lost towards getting the LAST thing to do on our new bathroom finished BEFORE the trip THE DOOR. I doubt if I will be able to make that time up. And I really wanted the door finished painted and hung before I left. So the wife would have her new bathroom to enjoy completely done like I promised.
