This year l'm bringing my daughter Katie, or should l say she decided to come along. Now this is good news because while Katie and her mother Linda are entertaining each other shopping l will be free to do the following.:thmbsp:

1. Listen to different sound systems.
2. Buy vinyl.
3. Educate Nos Valves on the superiority of solid state vs tubes.
4. Discuss important subjects with Army the specifics which can not be discussed on this site. (Or any other decent, sensible site.)
5. Take lessons from Grumpy and Tentose on how be sensitive and gentle.

Well the list goes on l head out Thursday night from the far north stop at Birch Run for the ladies to shop and arrive Friday afternoon. :yes:

For you newcomers be prepared to experience a great two days, for the veterans welcome back.

I'm almost packed! I even double checked the Airlines web site to make sure my soft side LP carrying case will fit the carry on bag limits. I got my travel music and my mini room stereo packed. Think TSA will let me on the plane with a pair of Minimus 7's, an Optimus SA-155 Amp, and a pair of KOSS PRO 4A's???

I got my special cut glass crystal drinking glass carefully packed in an old Camera lens case.

I got a near empty suitcase just for all the Door Prizes I can smuggle out of the place.

I got the special local Marion Barry Jam for Modge and the copies of Physical Graffiti for Strawman I promised.

Just a couple things to pickup in town and a couple things to throw in the suit case. And I'm ready.

So l woke up at 5 a.m. this morning thinking about the 2008 Fest. This is nuts, it is only a simple get together and l cannot sleep. I got to get a grip. I have decided to install some discipline in my behavior to limit the excitement in attending these events.:thmbsp:

Therefore l resolve to do the following:

1. I will not purchase more than 50 lp's. (If there is lots of good quality vinyl this number may be increased to 75).
2. I will not drink more than 20 beer at a time.
3. I will not insult tentoze and make fun of people who prefer tubes. (Well not much.)
4. I will limit my consumption of meat to 50 oz. per day. (Steak, eggs, bacon etc.)
5. I will not win more than five door prizes. This should not be difficult considering my track record.

Meeting Mac is the high lite of each years show for me and the misses. The other is breathing a sigh of relief not seeing him at the pool ! :)

The pool, this year, is a much more likely candidate to attract the attention of the Festgoers.

I'm steering well clear, on the off chance that macc changes his mind about resolution number 6, and decides to do a poolside photo shoot, before taking a dip.

Just to help a fellow AKer out I promise to take up the slack on numbers

1. I am set up to hump at least another 50 LP's home on the plane.

2. I make no promises about the volume of liquid libation I will be consuming.

4. I plan on eating like the wife ain't watchin so there is a chance I could go a little over the 50 once level

5. I'll be glad to hold any winning number that Cubdog's ticket is just one number higher. And any winning ticket for anything to big and valuable to ever risk trying to wedge into a suitcase.
