so folks i am not a totaly noob to tubes. i've been enjoying my bellari preamp with my grado head phones for about 8 months. recently i grabbed a jolida 302 B with stock tubes that had an unknown amount of hours on it. it was definitely used, but well cared for. after putting about 100 hours on it myself i am thinking about tube rolling as i am still using the stock. i love the sound i have, but i have been eyeing up something new. tubes can be fairly inexpensive if you shop right. what i am listening to now is a lot of funk, soul, roots reggae, and of course rock and roll.
does anyone have any suggestions on what i might want to try in my system? i have a music hall 2.1 with a grado gold cart, bellari VP 129 preamp, and the jolida 302B. 302 b has four EL 34s and 4 12AX7s.
what i'm looking is for some advice/suggestions for tubes that would sound good on this setup.
also if anyone out there is a vinyl junkie, i am going to be on a radio show here in madison, wi tomorrow morning from 8a-9a. we play vinyl and talk vinyl only.

What are 12AUX27s? Are they 12AU7 or 12AX7, or something else?

Sorry about this, the funny tube number is as I copy-pasted it from
your post. I see that it is now corrected. Good luck with your experiments
with the Jolida.

For less expensive 12ax7's, try the new Mullard re-issues or the Sovtek 12ax7-LPS. Both are garnering nice reviews, and won't break the bank like some of the new old stock (NOS) tubes.
Can't help with EL34's but I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses.

Sounds like you're set up pretty nicely there all around. So are you saying you'd like to stick with inexpensive tubes? If so, you'll mostly be looking at new ones for the 12AX7s, I'm not really familiar with EL34s.
What Tedrick recommended is good. I really like the JJ Teslas in my phono preamp, but aside from those all the NOS tubes I have just blow the new ones out of the water, so I really only use NOS now. If you're willing to spend some money I'll have a handful of recommendations for you.

excellent feedback folks. so i am not to astute on the whole differences between brands or constructions. i know mullard are mentioned a lot, but i dont know why?!? anyway just poking around to see what i can learn. i am not in immediate need, but i am considering the idea...
thanks
