OK I just got a call from a guy that was repairing radio from the 1940s till a ?? hes retired and moving to the country. He wants me to send him a list of the tubes I am looking for and he will let me know what he has. What I need to know is what Tubes are you guys looking for ? I honestly doubt he has any Huge money tubes but I know he said he has tons of RCA and Sylvania and others. So if theres numbers you are looking for specifically let me know and I will see what he has. Also he said he has every other part to tons of really old tube stuff to. If you are looking for anything let me know and I will find out. I am putting a list togther and would need your want lists within a few days or so.

I'm looking for a CX-345 Cunningham (45 type) output tube. Of course, I would like a NIB (new in box) tube but seeing I've only got one (NIB) Cunningham I would take a good, used one. Let me know and thanks for looking out buddie!

If the guy was repairing only radio you want to buy all of them. If he was repairing radio and TV tell him you want all the radio tubes, unless you can find a TV guy like Rob to go in with you for the TV tubes.
But basically if you do want to get all of them any tube that starts with a VT, has a number less than 100, has a 4 digit number like 7591, 7189, 5751, all that start with 5 like 5AR4, 5Y3,5U4....all tubes that start with a six or a 12. Any tube in a box that says Telefunken, Mullard or Amperex. Any tube that is only letters that starts with EL or ECC.
Just a start!

Here's a few oddballs I'm looking for:
6BZ7
6FW5
6HR6
6SD7
12DT8
18GD6
19HR6
20EZ7
75
6K8G ('G' type only for these last three)
6Q7G
25L6G
let me know what he wants for any he has...
I'll add a few more numbers to look out for: 6BQ5, 6L6GC, 7355, 6550, EL37, KT66/77/88 - big bucks on EBay!
Grump,
I'll go with you in spirit OK. :) See if he has any tube TV vertical output transformers. I need a whole whack of 'em for an experiment. I'll take NOS, or 'pulls' from old TV chassis. I'll pay a buck a piece plus shipping.
On the TV tubes, please grab as many 6JE6 sweep tubes as he has for me. I use these in my color TV restorations.
Most of the odd filament voltage series string TV tubes are useless. These begin with numbers OTHER THAN than 6 or 12, (although just to prove me wrong someone has already asked you to find him some of these goofy series string TV tubes). Maybe just grab all his tubes in one lot buy for a good price and post a list or sort through them later rather than try to pick when at his place. Most of these small tubes go for $2.00 each at the fleamarkets. You wouldn't want to pay more than 25 cents a tube in the lot buy I think IMO.
Metal octal tubes are potentially useful too.
6SN7 was a popular 40's TV tube that has audio applications today. Also look for 6W6, 6F6, 6K6, 6L6, 6V6. These can be used in audio.
Happy hunting,
Rob

I guess I could use the kind one can 'roll'. Seems I'm missing out on something and being an open minded left coast type of guy, I'm willing to try, if the wife will let me have the use of the dining room table...... I guess for best effect they sould be the round round kind as the square one would seem to me to be hard to start, not sure of which part numbers specify roundness...

Grab any 12B4A's he has too. Mighty fine little pre amp tube and make great low power amp tubes too. There's a SET article on them at enjoythemusic at the moment. IIRC, it was originally designed as a vertical deflection driver in TVs.
