I'm giving my new to me Sansui deck a Deoxid bath & belt replacement. While cleaning the switch's I noticed that the push button ( Tape Lead IN ) switch does not lock when pushed in like the others. Is It broke ? Thanks Rick

Thanks AU20K...
I was not sure so I thought I'd ask. Are we the only SC 5100 owners now? I could only find a couple post about this deck. Matter of fact I could only find 6 In the Sansui database. What Is your thoughts on the deck? Thanks Rick

I like the deck, lots of cool features. However, I will probably put it up on the bay as it is a woody cased unit and I am into the black rack mount stuff now. It has been in storage for about 3-4 years and it needs a nice home.

I need to do some work on mine to get it going so I can't comment on how it sounds. It has a very strange belt setup. Not exactly one of the better ones I've seen. I thought the arms that hold the tape in place after pushing play was a little different too.

The lead-in button on mine doesn't lock either.

Where did you pick up your belt kit?

Update.. My new deck will not play. I changed belts before testing because the main belt had turned to tar. The servo kicks In but the motor will not start. It turns freely by hand. I guess I will have to bust out the VOM.

DENNYDOG whats wrong with yours?
