First to the AK crew for putting on the show, it was much better and more fun this time around. I won't name all the names for fear of missing someone important, but you know who you all are. The new venue was simply outstanding.
Thanks to RichPA and his wife Lori for graciously picking up and storing some equipment for me and then bringing it up to the fest with them. It was great meeting both of you and I hope to make the trek to PA sometime to visit and hear your audio system. I was hoping to get to chat a little more but the one downfall to co-hosting a room was not having as much freedom to just hang out.
Thanks to dogscanskate for the boxes of lightbulb looking things and for the conversations that I still don't understand but it was fun anyway. Remember, speakers first...Oh and thanks for the "Fuck you, Newman" greeting. :)
To Jaymanaa who graciously donated some useful tubes for some projects including the phono preamp (more on the phono later) that was finished just before the fest. It was great meeting you and talking with you, looking forward to it next year.
Modge, thanks for the Tetley's tea and the conversation, I hope you enjoyed your stay.
It was great meeting Mike Gibson (Thanks for the Dufur shirt!). I've "known" Mike from the chat room for quite a while now and he is one of the most interesting/funny characters I've come across. He called Ed and I generous, but he is the epitome of that adjective.
Santa Alleykat, thanks for being in the room when Liberty was leaving to provide a room full of people a good laugh. For those not in the room at the time, my wife stopped by to visit and take some of my gear home with her. She brought Liberty and when it was time to go, she said "bye bye" to everyone in the room. She looked at Bill (alleykat) and said "Bye bye santa, hohoho merry christmas". Luckily, there were some witnesses who will use that for some great future comic relief.
Thanks for Zoeinterloper for playing DJ for a good chunk of time. For those that don't know him, he has a record collection that most of us only hope to some day own. He's also got some good ears and I value his subjective evaluation of our gear that we had with us.
Thanks most of all to Wiggy for the lapdance to make me feel welcome. Just kidding, thanks for taking all the detailed pics of the equipment in our room, I can't wait to see it. Your camera is ridiculous.
RayW, i've know him for the better part of 8-9 years through our speaker building activities, it was great to meet him in person. He also brought up a pair of eminence drivers for me (imagine that) to use in a pair of speakers that were supposed to be complete by the fest but work duties prevented me from having the speakers ready.
Thanks to whitese for letting me sleep on his couch and for not hitting me with his cast for not finishing an amp for him.
Most of all, thanks to Ed (Squidward) for working with me on the layout for our phono pre and doing all of the electrical work, asking me to co-host, getting me into this fucking tube crap, helping me make fun of trianglezerius, and becoming one of my best friends. Although, i'm not surprised that two people seperated at birth would get along so well.
