Not enough time or space to go into every detail at this time, but for now a little data dump. What a whirl wind of a weekend - from flying in on Friday night; a lot of rooms, a lot of gear, a lot of music to digest: to flying back out Sunday evening. ( I know the syntax is wrong, but this isn't English class).
I hit every single room on Saturday with all the crowds of people, wrote down all the models of gear and listened to every system. That took 9 hours. Out to dinner with a group and then back to the hotel for the live music...WHICH ROCKED !!
Sunday was more relaxing. The crowds were lighter and more evenly spaced, so I got to spend more time in many rooms that had impressed me the day before.
The whole Fest took a quantum leap this year. The new venue, more vendors, a more diverse selection of gear and double the attendees from last year. No it's not the same Fest as years past, but then it shouldn't be. Like anything it evolves over time, just like my systems at home. As my tastes and my gear have matured, I look for more from the Fest and AKFest 2008 delivered. There are still things for me to dream of owning, things I own now and things I can discuss having already owned them.
All in all, I call this the best Fest yet. I'll write more when I get some sleep and post some of the 400+ pictures I have.
