I was poking around http://www.turntableneedles.com/ last night, and they are saying that there is a price increase coming on the AT120E and AT440MLa cartridges. Can anyone confirm this? Seems an odd time to raise prices, after their recent quality-control issues with the 440.

I paid $149 w/ shipping last month for my AT440MLa from J&R Music. I think that cart went for under $100 until recently.

Yeah, this time last year you could get it for around $80.

Still worth $150, IMO!

i think you'll see a price increase on all electronics, clothing, hardware tools, everything. with the price of oil going up daily, retailers use that as an excuse to increase prices and say "due to shipping cost, we have had to raise our prices".
i went to the bakery the other day, and they even had a sign up saying "due to the rising cost of flour and other ingredients, we have reluctantly had to raise our prices".
it's an easy time for retailers to do it and probably won't see too many retailers not doing it.

They still have a few AT440ML OCC's.... grab those while you can, they're superior to the MLa.
