Picked up a couple of used TT's last week. Marantz 6200 w/ AT 13Ea cartridge, and a Dual 1219 w/ Ortofon VMS 5E Mk II cartridge.

The 6200 has a Technics TT mat and a generic headshell. Going to look for oem's if possible. Base is in good shape, no cracks in cover, and looks like a new belt.

The Dual is in (or on) a full box style platten, hinged top with wooden sides to the plexiglass. Fair shape, some scratches in both the wood and plexiglass, missing single play spindle. Works ok, but cueing lever is inop, gotta check that.

Anybody have any info on these cartridges?? What level they each would be considered? Styli look ok with a low powered magnifying glass. Got to get a loup to really inspect and check my others.

Thanks for any info!!

Both decent cartridges, the AT probably a bit more upscale (.2 x .7 elliptical, 1-2g tracking force), but the Ortofon (.3 x .7 elliptical, 1.5-3g tracking force) can be upgraded with a different stylus.

The AT13 with eaV or SA stylus is one of my all time favorites. It's a great cartridge and original or good JICO after market styli are readily available for it. About equal to current AT130. That's a winner :)

Never played with that version Ortofon, but they get favorable comment :)
