I live in a confined space. My TT is close to my TV. I dont play records with the TV on but I wonder, is it a bad idea to have it close to the TV... static electricity. I would be willing to toss my TV if this is a problem ;^)

Ask the warden if he can give you a larger cell.

I have 2 of my TTs next to TV sets with no issues that I have come across :)

Only if they're both on at the same time. Then you might get a bunch of induced hum as the gun magnets can throw a hefty field. This assumes of course that your TV is a CRT. If it's a flat panel, that's a whole different world and should not be an issue :)

Agreed with previous posts. I also have crammed audio and PC equipment in a small area. Actually, the leads from the TT (with a low output MC cart) go parallel to the power cables and the step up transformer is currently sitting on top of the amplifier, next to a PC. Even the 0.5uV that the MC cart is giving out don't seem to get interference from the PC, amp or ethernet switch that are crammed in a confined space.

OTOH, a bigger cell would be really nice...
