Had a chance to attend a private corporate event Wednesday night in Orlando that featured Eric Clapton. Pretty good show. Filled the Amway Arena, so I'm assuming 17 to 18 thousand folks. Good mix of solid blues tunes with the obligatory classic hits. Performance was close to 90 minutes long, finishing with Layla and Cocaine. Crossroads was the single encore.

Not much interaction beyond a single 'good evening' and a few thank you's along the way, but then a bunch of IT nerds and corporate execs don't add up to the most dynamic audience your ever gonna perform in front of. They exploded on the hits and were polite on the rest. Personally I really appreciated him making it a session with Eric Clapton instead of classic rock radio rehash.

So did Robert Cray open for him, and were Doyle Bramhall or Derek Trucks playing with him?
