I just gave his best of album a spin the other day. It was one of my grandfather's in pristine condition. I've always loved "Make The World Go Away". He had a warm baritone voice that was very distinct. May he rest in peace.

Eddy Arnold co-wrote one of my favorite songs, "You Don't Know Me", which Ray Charles did an excellent reading of.

From Eddy
""I sing a little country, I sing a little pop and I sing a little folk, and it all goes together," he said in 1970.

Gonna be some sweet tunes at the pearly gates jam session tonight

Hi,

Eddy Arnold is one of the greatest country singers the world over. A sad loss. Also, a superb songwriter and a superb gentleman. I am fortunate enough to have known him and he was a friend. He will be missed.

I have "Tennessee Stud" on my jukebox, and I play it often...one of my faves.

Eddy, thank you and rest in peace. I always loved his rendition of Don Robertson's "I Really Don't Want to Know."

An old-fashioned singing star. They don't do them that way anymore.

There was an obit piece on the PBS Newshour tonight. They mentioned that he sold 85 MILLION records in his career, if I heard that right. Whoa, no wonder why I see a few in the thrifts.
