If you can have any finish you wish on any new Heritage Series what would you choose? Oiled, bare, exotic, etc. A picture will help.

I would go with leather made from human skin.... or the scalps of baby seals.... or asteroid rock milled to be like marble... oh i have so many....

The Zebra is very nice......seen a set of CW's in that finish, but I ended up w/raw birch and stained w/Provincial stain finish(minwax) w/no PE(polyeurethyne) protective finish.

Wish they had Black Walnut....mmmm! My favorite!

Brazilian Rosewood-- but that is of course no holds barred --
environmental, size or otherwise.

Absolutely, I forgot about that one:thmbsp:
Another expensive finish would be Louisiana Cypress and has that vintage look:

I prefer a carpeted finish.......just kidding. Seriously, though, I would love to see a set of Cornwalls in a gloss black piano finish. IMO

Klipsch said the walnut & cherry can be had unfinished at no extra charge. Any other exotics at 30% more but can be done.
I like hand oiled walnut just like these.

I just placed an order on a pair of Heresy III in unfinish walnut. Took advantage of the 25% off deal. Now I need advice on which oil to use and how to make it look nice. I like the Wharfedale 9.1 I posted above. Anyone know what they used?

Olive Ash Burl, Western Europe.
I think this would look awesome with a nice gloss varathane finish.

Congrats on the Heresy III purchase :D

I've used a Boiled Linseed oil/ turpentine mix that some of the guys talked about at the Klipsch forum years back, its been a while and I don't remember the ratio, but it turned out rather nice. Maybe some of the guys here with wood experience will know what I'm talking about...
Seems that's what some of the old timers preferred back in the day. Maybe a search of their archives would turn something up.

Bare. My 1976 LaScalas are bare and they are staying that way.

Try Tung oil. Easy to use and does a wonderful job. Used it on my Bubinga Heresy I's.

It covers scratches fine but a little weak for a finish. depends on what type of finish you want. Ask Sherwin Williams or find a local furniture refinisher and see what he uses. . .
