i might either buy this acura integra or a 1993 mercedes 190E this summer. they want $2000 for this tricked out acura integra. the only problem with it is it needs new cv joints. and its on denvers craigslist.com this would be a sick ride to drive to school in!

Tricked out means - HOT-RODDED and that may mean other things breaking. CV joints arent cheap either.

Yep, I'd say the Acura has been rode hard 'n' put up wet LOTSA times. It's prolly had a succession of teenaged Arsewhole owners who have abused the hell outta it, figuring they can simply flip it to the next punk who comes along...

I wouldn't buy that.
I think you may be happier if you bought a car based on other factors besides looks and status. Fuel economy is one. As a student just how are you going to afford gas if the sweet car of your dreams gets 8 MPG?

Probably NOT the Acura for you, unless you want to sink a few thousand more in for repairs.
Sorry.

We all say pass on this one - if the CV's are bad what is going on with the bearings, exhaust, transmission - well you get the picture.
Stop looking at cute the inside and look at underneath.

Remember also that Acura's are made by Honda, and most, if not all, Honda engines must have the timing belt changed every 80-90K miles. So, if the mileage on the Intregra is getting close, that's another $650+ dollars you'll have to shell out on top of the CV joints. If you don't change the timing belt and it fails, you are looking at major valve/piston/engine damage and $$$$$ to get it fixed.
Anorther vote for a pass on the Integra.

Very good point. The timing belt on my wife's Integra years ago failed and it was a $2000+ fix. Luckily, I talked the dealer in picking up the cost.

I'd pass on THAT Acura....and I owned a 1990 Acura Integra GS.
BEST car I ever owned.....17 years and 225K of ownership....with NO problems.
Until some senile old crone WITHOUT a license, T-boned me by running a red light.
Try finding one at a decent price....if you can?
