What do you think of June

Early June would be great; the second half not so much, from my point of view - getting too much into summer stuff.

Tough to say seeing as how it's a year away, but you might want to keep some distance from Memorial Day to avoid family vacations. Shouldn't matter for me personally as long as there's plenty of lead time.

I would think you might get less of a turn out. Lots of people starting the family vacations around that time... Not many guys can talk the wife and kids into a stereo fest as the family vacation, especially since that's when kids start getting out of school.

I would think late April would be better if you were trying to get more people to attend... winter is just going away, and people are starting to look for things to do..

I'm probably all around wrong though, since I don't have kids nor the worry, but that's what I hear from people when I mention things happening on the weekends around June and July time..

I agree wholeheartedly. I coach a little league team and once school lets out we have trouble throwing 9 kids together sometimes.

Well that would pretty much make sure I would have a hard time attending. Even in a terrible slow year like this year by June we are working 6 days a week. And I was thinking that if I went to the FEST next year I would drive. So I could haul stuff. NO WAY in the world to get that much time off in June.

1st weekend in June is the 1st weekend after Shavuot. Apr 25-26 is well between Pesach and Shavuot...Either one works for me.

I like those dates. I figured it was a hotel problem. When I lived in PA I'd vollenteer with the local government. They had to book almost 5 years out to get room for their conventions. Only problem was no one knew who would be in power in 5 years.

June sounds good. For the big Michigan radio show in Lansing we have to book 3 years in advance, so getting anything in 1 year is an amazing accomplishment.

HUGE apologies for sounding selfish here... early April, as months between mid-April and October are for racing. RMAF is October so month 10 minus 6 (months) = 4 (April). Of course the world DOES NOT revolve around me, yet mine revolves around racing...

I would appreciate it if you would not schedule AKfest for the first weekend in May. The Lone Star Audiofest has been held on the first weekend in May since 2005. When AKfest overlapped with LSAF in 2008, it was inconvenient to exhibitors that go to most regional shows. I think you remember Audio Note and others writing you to ask that you not schedule that day, as they try to attend both shows. So please mark that on your calendar and consider it when planning.
