I picked up a vintage Sansui tape deck the other day at a yard sale. The deck is a Sansui SC-3300. It is rather large, hell it's a tank!
It powers up, lights come on, the take up sprocket turns when I push the play button but when a tape is inserted (new pre recorded) it makes a clicking noise and will not turn the tape.
I think the tape is ok since I can turn the take up wheel with my finger without difficulty. Since I don't know jack about tape decks I am not sure where to start trouble shooting this deck.
If I can get it working, is it worth the trouble? Are these units worth anything these days?
