I've been copying my LPs, 45s and cassettes to CD, which is an ongoing thing. I have many many 45s, many of which are stored in 45 RPM rectangular cases from the 70's, with groovy designs on the outside and numbered dividers inside. Some are stored in round plastic cases with a triangular handle on top that twists off.

But, I have many that are stored in cardboard boxes, as I've also gotten records from friends, and bought lots of records at yard/garage sales and thrift shops (Goodwill etc). Plus LH vinyl of Fort Wayne (they have a good website). So, does anyone know of where to buy 45 RPM record cases, either the retro kind or any kind. Wooden Nickle Music and other local stores don't have them. Thanks. markdf

I put mine in sealable bags with cardboard flats for support. Cover and record are seperated. I then put them in plastic coated boxes sold specifically for that purpose by Bags Unlimited. They are very plain looking, but get the job done.

I also have an old retro one with a handle that is for the 45s I play. Found it in a thrift store.

I second the vote for Bags Unlimited. Yes, they're plain looking, but do the job nicely.

Earlier I found 3 of the Disc-Go-Case record cases at Ebay. The set of three colorful plastic cases is going for $36.00, which comes to $12.00 apiece. I have quite a few like that. A great find.

But, I had never heard of 45 RPM bags before so I searched and found a site called bagsunlimited.com. There I found a 45 RPM carrying case in black faux leather that holds 50 records, for $15.00 each. I have many cases like that, only in different colors. Another great find. So, this must be my lucky day.

But, as much as I love the music on my records, many are well-played and, even with a $300.00 Technics turntable and great PC software, just don't transfer well to CD. The Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida LP that I got for my 18th birthday is a classic, even after almost 40 years. But, had to get the CD version, as well. There are more classic oldies on the internet than anywhere else and that's where I find a good many of those songs on CD. Classic TV shows on DVD, too.

Your idea about the bags, lead me to the black 45 RPM cases, so many thanks. And, aloha. markdf I put mine in sealable bags with cardboard flats for support. Cover and record are seperated. The Bags unlimited black case is pretty much what a vintage box was. The old ones do pop up on ebay. I bought a bunch (filled with 45s) at a yardsale and sold them all to a 45 guy for a buck a pop. They were cool, but I keep mine in white cardboard boxes that I got from bags unlimited.
