Hey guys,

I have a bad volume encoder (asx7004). I want to pull it out and take it to a couple local electronic shops to see if I can match it since I don't want to pay Pioneer $9.75 for shipping

My question is, will I still be able to use the receiver and control the volume with the controller while the encoder is removed? Or will it break a circuit and not allow it to work?

Thanks,

Chris.

operating a receiver with some arbitrary components removed is asking to DESTROY the unit... :yikes:

Come on, NO volume control?..... NO SOUND.....

it looks like that's a custom pioneer part, which means it would only come from a stripped unit, or the manufacturer.

which means that driving around will cost far more in gas than the shipping. Seeing the Pioneer HAS THE PART, it would be an unimaginable luxury to me to be able to just BUY the part, and I would happily pay the shipping.
