Dennis:

Just so you know, the PS1 is my PlayStation 1, the SCH-1001 model getting all the press as a CD source, and not a turntable.
We'll see what the group thinks of its sonics.

Damn Andy, I still want to compare that to my SCPH-101 that some have said was the POS one. Just too much to do this weekend. :thumbsdn:

I am so sorry I had to move away from MI - I was trying to get something like this going for 4 years there. It is noce to see things really are good there now.

The people have always been what makes this area great Dave, It's the crappy economy that forces people to leave. You and your wife were some of the first people I met at my first AK Fest. It's truly a shame that people have to move away to survive. My only daughter fled last year, dammit, now you're going to make me get sad! :tears:

If there will be a turntable at the meet I may be able to bring my tube phono stage.

I'm coming in from Ann Arbor. I believe that's where Fedallah is from. Ashok and PakProtector also live in town, and have been known to go to a SMAC meet on occasion.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to miss this one, and most probably the next two. I would have loved to hear the John Hogan 300B.

But, I am signed up as September host, and will be back in the groove from Fall.

I hope to be able to make this one. If I can, I'll bring an AMC CD8b CD player. I like it and it was pretty cheap.

Hi Grump, I do not know. He told me but I was driving home after teaching class until 10pm...and I forgot. I do remember him making a big deal of it so I imagine it will be a good one. I had a couple mis-steps building my phone stage so Squib is bringing a reciever with a phone stage. Cheers.

Reason I ask is its sorta important to know if the cartridge will work with my phono stage. Hate to bring it for nothing..

Good point. I was really hoping to get my octal phonostage done by tonight, but my mechinest was down for four days because of the storm and couldn't get my stuff done in time. I do have my Onkyo TT here. Cheers.

Great time as usual. Many thanks to Dennis for being such a great host. The beer was cold, the brats and burgers were delicious and the music and company was superb.

Yep, another fine afternoon spent with good food, great tunes, good company and a gracious host. It was nice seeing the regulars plus a lot of new faces there today. Those EV's really are nice and thanks for allowing us to commandeer your living room for the Hammond monos/PS1/Tyler Acoustics system.
And folks have got to see your Hagermann execution!!

Thanks Dennis for another great afternoon!!:thmbsp:

Many thanks to Dennis for putting out a huge food and beverage spread and for letting us dance around his house for an afternoon. Folks, we really don't expect all hosts to lay out the goods like Dennis. Many, many thanks for hosting.

My favorite comment of the day was from Michael, who said "If you want to host a SMAC meet there's really no need to have a stereo system. Just tell folks to bring whatever they want to listen to." Here, here. We had a lot of gear there yesterday. Thanks to Dennis and to everyone for making it a success:yes:

I'm sorry I missed being able to listen to the DIY 6LU8 Compactron AK build amp. Too little time.
