I read an interview with Robert Plant a while back which suggested he was the reason they didn't do this before. He was having too much fun doing the album and tour with Alison Kraus, and felt that the 'monster thing' that the Zep had been was old stuff, history, blah, blah, blah... whereas the stuff with Krauss, while much less remunerative, was exciting and fun and new. But he did admit that the recent Zep concert had gone very well and that he had enjoyed it more than he had expected to. He came across as someone who was excited (if not a bit fearful) to be discovering a whole new area of music, and not interested in trying to redo stuff he had outgrown. Of course, the whole thing may well have been designed to help sell the album-of-the-month (i.e., the one with Ms. Krauss).

Fingers crossed they come here (Hong Kong) as part of the tour ... I was one of the 20 million or so applicants who was disappointed when they did the memorial concert a little while back... sure would be nice to see them! But I suspect if they come through Asia, I'll have to fly to Japan (or maybe Beijing or Shanghai) to catch them. Hope I'm wrong.

Until it's announced by a promoter with dates and venues it's all BS.

I see David Coverdale wants to jump on it, will Tawny Kitane (sp?) be there too? LMAO! She could use some $$ to buy more crack.

I heard on the radio yesterday that Plant plans on staying very close w/ Alison Kraus. There record is platinum and won a grammy and he is enjoying the tour(They just added a second night in St. Louis as they are filming a DVD). He also said plans are in the works for a second album.

I'm not gonna hold my breath on the Zep tour. It's prolly gonna be $100+ a ticket anway which will leave me out just like the Police.

for those of us too young to have experienced them when in their heyday, the price of a ticket will be worth it to this fan.

I saw Plant on his Now and Zen tour but would LOVE to see the Hammer of the Gods

Good luck in getting them in HK. I saw Miles Davis there about 20 years ago. It was my first non-classical concert in HK, and it was interesting to see how differently the crowd reacted compared to the exuberance of an audience in Europe or N. America. This would be fun to surprise my 11-year-old with tickets to see. His Dad's kind of a square...:thmbsp:

I know Plant and Krause are scheduled to play in SF in october, so I don't see any Zep things happening until after them if at all...

My friend, who’s an executive in the industry, was at the Ertegun tribute and said that Zep’s performance absolutely gave him chills—and this guy is NOT easily impressed. I somehow doubt they’ll come to Detroit, but if they do, I’ll pony up the cash. This is only gonna happen once, if it happens at all, and I wasn’t lucky or quite old enough to have seen the original band.

If they come to NYC, I'm there! I wonder if Miss Pamela (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pamela_Des_Barres) will show up? Maybe even Cynthia Plastercaster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cynthia_Plaster_Caster)!
