Decided to take a run to the 24 hour US Post Office by the airport with my wife tonight. I was telling her about the site, and how things are going, and said "geez, wouldn't it be nice if I could find some vintage gear in these trash piles on the side of the road to make the night complete?" She gave me a  and kept on driving....but then I told her to pull over real quick!

Found a nice heavy (and battered up a bit) pair of Jensen TF-3 speakers! They're all there, but I haven't had chance to cart them inside. Anyone have any knowledge of these? Nothing found on a quick Google search.

Actually I believe Jensen purchased Phase Linear from Pioneer. Jensen started making all that Phase Linear car audio junk and the high end home audio gear was discontinued.

Small world,
2 days ago I found a pair of Jensen LS-6's in a thrift that I usually pass by. They need refoamed so I'm not sure how they sound yet, I hope to refoam them soon.
As for being large, they are more like furniture, my sister-in-law thought that they were end tables when she first saw them. And they are so heavy I actually seriously pulled my back out of place getting them into and out of the back seat of my truck. I'm talking very big speakers, I hope they have the power handling capability to handle the big 'ol G-22000 that will be ariving home soon. If not then the Kenwood KLA-700's will have to handle it for now till I can find a way to sneak in a pair of McIntosh end table sized speakers I have been eyeing for a while. I think if this bigger is better attittude keeps up, then I will need a new house or my wife will move me out into the carport :D

Orion, not known for having every model, shows a TF-3A, TF-3AU, & a TF-3B. MSRPs ran $220-$250 per pair, made 1977-81.
The LS-6 went for $600 per pair, from 77-79.
Like with this pair (now playing) of American Acoustics D-5550's, they may surprise.
Of course, having superb gear driving them may be the difference maker :D
The big G-22000 would fit that profile.

I'm hoping to bring it home next week, I still owe 200 bucks on it, so I have to finish the current job we're doing, and then I just hired another guy so it may have to wait til the following week, but it will be soon, I am counting the days. He wants at least a week notice to completely go through it to put it in top notch condition, so after I have the cash I still have top wait a bit.
But I have had visual and touchy feely confirmation, i turned a few knobs and pushed a few buttons, whoo, heeeeee, what a rush, biggggggggg, biggggg knobs it's got :D

VinylHanger, I have a pair of LS-6B's they are a pretty decent speaker IMHO, mine have mismatched replacement woofers but still sound pretty decent. I have allways wondered how they would sound with the original woof's. no dought your back is in bad shape after moving these!

Hey Johnny,
Any idea on the power handling capabilities of these speaks. I have the big Sansui arriving soon and it pushes over 200 watts per, I'm hoping that these Jensens will handle it. By the weight of them they gotta be bulletproof :uzi:

Thanks for the info, I guess I will have to find some more speakers, darn, that really bumms me out. Now I get to spend more time looking for new old gear, and I can even tell my wife that it is very neccessary for the good of the Sansui..."I must have more power handling" besides, I think there is a law about these things..the anti-speaker blowup law :D
And there is always that set of McIntosh speaks, I believe that they recommended 200 or so watts minimum. Yep, now I MUST get them, ah....life is good

If you decide you do not want to play with the Jensens You could send me the drivers. I could give you what you paid plus shipping, and it should help with the wife:D .......
