I have a very nice pair of '84 heresy's that I picked up about a year ago off of craigslist.

I had a pair of kg4's that I purchased new back in the 80's...but sold them.... and am glad to be back with another pair of klipsch.

I am currently setting up a nice seperates 2 channel system for my entertainment room ( getting rid of a yamaha avr reciever :thumbsdn: and all the related 7 speaker garbage).

I have a marantz 2220B that I had hooked up to the heresy's and on the F.M. tuner it sounded almost as good as cd quality.... the new 90watt per channel yammy avr sounds like garbage on the tuner compared to the vintage marantz. However, the marantz does not have enough inputs to work for my application. I have a t.v., cd, computer, and tuner to hook up.

So... I want to try seperates. I have a sansui tu417 tuner and am going to check into a juicy music "peach" tube preamp (4 aux inputs) and am trying to decide if I want to go solid state amp or maybe an el84 or kt88 tube amp.

An integrated tube amp would be nice if it has enough inputs.. any suggestions about combos with heresy's would be appreciated. I am looking for that "live" sweet sounding midrange and the best soundstage possible. Budget will be $1400-$1800.

Thanks

Hello,

I was in the same situation. I choose the Rouge Audio Cronus from Gordon at Atlanta Audio. Just look into it. American made, great price, great support, wonderful 55wpc sound. good luck.

Are you running a peach or blueberry? If so what amp are you using?

Thanks,Dave

JMA BlueBerry MkI with NOSValves VRDs (60w monoblocks)...there are some for sale right now on klipschforum...outstanding sound and I believe craig "made" the VRDs to go with Klipsch...

Single-ended 2A3, push-pull EL84 and push-pull EL34 will all work extremely nicely with Heritage Klipsch amps. As much as I am not a huge fan of 7591/7868s, I will say that a Fisher 400 or 500B/C work quite well with Heritage Klipsch speakers, too.
Be aware that the Heresys really don't have much LF, though.

This is true, but with some careful placement, my McIntosh MC30s provide a reasonable amount of bass. I'm not a huge fan of bloated hip hop toyota bass anyway.

I'm extremely happy with a pair of Heresy IIs and a (highly modified) Dynaco ST35 amplifier; 17.5WPC is more than enough volume to stun small animals. Although to be fair, I am also running a HSU subwoofer as well.
