From Discogs.com (http://www.discogs.com/):

a community-built database of music information. Imagine a site with discographies of all labels, all artists, all cross-referenced. It's getting closer every day

I'm finding it mighty useful for my 500+ collection of vinyl. It leans more towards electronic and dance, but there's still thousands of rock, funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz, classical, etc. You can either find an existing entry for your particular album, or enter your own. There are dozens of data types used, and it is completely relational, although a bit buggy at times. You can also output your collection as a spreadsheet too.

And if you already use a another database online that you're finding useful, let's discuss...

yes, i use discogs. i'm into electronic and experimental music, though. i use rateyourmusic for other types of music. both have their advantages.

just woke up, so i don't have all that much to say, but have you noticed almost every electronic release/artist is tagged as 'reggae/hip-hop'?

In case anyone is interested, I've managed to document about half my collection at this point.

View my Discogs collection here... (http://www.discogs.com/collection?user=mr.spatial&sort=artist%2Casc)

By the way, having the ability to export my collection (as XML or CSV files) is really nice. I can input all of the info I want, export everything, convert it to an Access database, then include additional grading and condition info to it. And it's all free too, unlike Catraxx.
