I have a Sansui receiver model RZ 2200 AV that has a mini-jack in the rear labeled "SSBS"
I don't have the manual and was wondering if this might be a subwoofer output...???
thanks!

It is for the remote control... Stands for "SANSUI SERIAL BUS-LINE SYSTEM"

thanks for the info. I don't doubt you but it seems odd that there would be a jack for this when I have a wireless remote control for the unit...

The SSBS allows the other units (Tape, turntable, etc) that use the same SSBS system to be daisy chained, and operated from the single SSBS remote control.

Onkyo did the same thing with their Remote Interactive (RI) system.
A time before universal remotes.

Actually, most of the big boys had a version of their own, to connect the different components together, some just used a simple 1/8" jack and thin 2 conductor wire, some used fancy multi-pin connectors and ribbon cables, etc...
Out of fashion now, pretty much a thing of the 80's/early 90's
