Sansui 2000x (1971), Luxman PD 264 (1983), Infinity RS7 (1984).
(Dates derived from serial numbers.)

Seen here playnig Carole Kings "Tapestry".

After a new driver board and new output transistors the Sansui came to life.
The Luxman had a bad solder joint, and an improper cartridge set-up.
The Infinitys were refoamed and the crossovers were rebuilt.

The sound is surprisingly good.:music:

Next, I have a Revox A77 that needs a head relap, or replacement, perhaps.:scratch2:

2 Q's, have you tried speaker stands? Since you like the sound of them with a bit of a back tilt, maybe get 'em up a little. And how did you get the 10 or is it 12 gauge speaker wire in the Sansui? BTW looks really nice!

It always gives me grin to see setup like that. Basic, nothing fancy, and I'm sure it sounds a great as it looks. Nice.

Craig,

I have a pair of 28" Target stands that I plan on trying. Although I will probably find them to be too tall.

It's 12 Gauge, and I used gold plated pin connectors from RadioShack. The Infinitys have been modified with 5-way binders.

This isn't the final spot, either, BTW. Just set then up in the dining area to check everything out. This will end up in a bedroom when the remodeling is done.

Went ahead and cleaned the RCA jacks and cartridge pins with a little deoxit,
WOW, did that sharpen the sound up!

I've had it running all afternoon and night.

The nights playlist;

Beethoven Piano Sonatas

Carole King, Tapestry

Fleetwood Mac, Bare Trees

Viotti, Violin Concerti, No's 22 & 23

Stevie Ray Vaughn, Texas Flood

Hank Williams jr., Man of Steel

As I type; Led Zeppelin, In through the Out Door.
On Classic Records 180 gram.

I had forgotten what an awesome TT the Luxman PD264 really is.

You know, Fellas, there is a little history behind this system.

Sansui 2000x--My brother brought one back with him when he came home from Vietnam, I think it was 1970:scratch2:. It was the first HiFi stereo component I ever heard. I was 6 years old. He had it for about 10 years, and traded it in for something else. (NAD, I think.)

Luxman PD264--I bought one new in 1983. (My first HiFi purchase.) Sold it, along with an HK 825 preamp, and a Denon POA1500 five years later when I fell into financial trouble. Found this one in the local Trading Post a couple years ago, and just got around to restoring it a couple days ago. Just needed a little TLC.

(I've also just recently acquired a POA1500 from a fellow AKer. May start looking for an HK 825 next.:scratch2:)

The Infinitys we just a lucky GW find. No history there, just great speakers.:thmbsp:

At any rate, this system has turned out great. And I give a good deal of credit to my friends on AK for that. It was info and advice I gathered here that helped me get it up and running.

I like the clean look. No need to get crazy with lots of equipment. A simple system like yours can really surprise a guy.
