This is about half of what I came home with, (rest is still outside)
In there is a desent stash of the Compacto amp tubes as well , under the tubes
in the white box is about half the trannies I'd scored as well, with a few real nice
potted chokes as well as some filament iron, interstage and input trannies.
Overall I'm very pleased with the take home, the event may not have been quite
as lagre as it has been but still more then I could spend or take home.:D:smoke::D
(Did get beat out on a pile of tube integrateds dammit)

Dude...massive tube haul:banana:
I can't believe you got that many tubes:sigh:. You've gotta be in the running for the largest single tube stash in the state of Michigan...heck maybe the country. Now if you'd ever sell some of the darn things, you could stop thinking about working for a living.
Nice score.

Damn Keg, that's a good haul. I really want to go, but I guess my consolation is that I am on a deck over looking the Rocky Mountains and drinking.....well what ever that put in front of me. Pics to follow. Cheers.

Laugh if you may, but he's right!! :D
Actually, it seems he got about half this year of what he got last year, but it appears that he got more of the good stuff this year.
I just snagged about a dozen tubes, some caps, sockets and a nice wooden knob, mainly for my Heath W-5M projects. Tubes aside there really wasn't much audio stuff there, but it was a nice day and it was fun looking at all the old wooden console/cathedral radios, and seeing the usual suspects digging through the bins.

hey-Hey!!!,
Neatest thing I found was a quad old/odd Taylor TUF-20 tubes. These are tantalum anode/thoriated Tungsten triodes similar to the 4E27's in my big amps. They're listed as small pwer tubes, but for audio, treat them like half a 6SN7. They are in poor shape, both physically and electrically but I may be able to de-gas them if I can get them hot enough quickly enough( the trick is to get them conducting so as to warm up the anode and make it suck up the gas; Tantalum when orange-hot is *VERY* reactive ). I wrecked one when I was too conservative heating it up...now there's only 3....:(
I also mated up a monster 500-0-500 power TX. That one cost a fortune by the standards set by the rest of the haul, but the PS it was living in came with a new-testing Telefunken 12AX7...:) Now I have two, and can get working on the next big One.
I was not in 'stock up' mode, and acquired a few interesting bits and some off colour but useful tubes. GE PIO caps, AC rated with 'Pyranol' as the oil, should be tasty!
cheers,
Douglas

I ended up with a big 'ol box of transmitting triodes, a lot of 6sn7s, and a pair of SG-220 speakers. The speakers sound fantastic just sitting on my bench. I can't wait to build something to put them in. For anyone who has an interest in radio, this show is one of the biggest and probably the best in the country right now (other than Hamvention). I usually post the link a few weeks before the show, but I've been unbelievably short on time this year.

Jeff ask me when we first started hanging out together as the SMAC group started going...
"have ya ever been over to Kegg's? Dude, There's gear and tubes everywhere, you can't even sit down on the couch without sittin on tubes!"
And I'm happy to see that nothing has changed.
Happy (valve) Listening! :beatnik:
