I did a complete recap and resister job to my Magnavox 175. I eliminated the balance control and matched the feed back circuits. I moved the choke to the underside of the chassis and filled the holes from old sockets with bondo! I painted a 4" x 6" Hammond chassis and mounted it as an output transformer cover. I gave the chassis a paint job and mounted it on an oak board. I got a Magnavox emblem from an old extension speaker and affixed it to the front. She sounds great!

What do you think?

There's something special sounding about the old 175 circuit and 6V6s.

Looks good!:thmbsp:

Thanks guys! I know that beige is an unusual color choice, but I thought it kept with the vintage look.

That is a nice looking 175. :thmbsp: How about a photo of the other side of the chassis?

Makes me want to finish up the wiring on my modded '150!

Gonna be interesting to see how the '175 circuit sounds like with 6L6s...with appropriate "beef-up" for additional voltage swing, of course...

Gordon.
