computer dummy needs Itunes help

I had a friend put all my music on an external hard drive, but now he has moved away and I can't seem to reach him so I need help.
Now I have a different computer that I have my Itunes on.
I have the hard drive music in a new folder but how do I get it into my Itunes
folder?

If you want to keep them in the existing folder and use that folder for all your Itunes songs
Edit > Preferences > Advanced
Change the location of music folder

Then import the folder through File > Add Folder
