Hey everybody, I hope everyone is doing well. I've been recording some of my vinyl and I noticed something in the spectrum that looked odd to me. I'm new at this so I was wondering if someone could shed some light on what I'm seeing here. There's a steady line running at the 20khz mark. When I zoom in while listening it's actually the high hats. Does this look right to you guys? Thanks!

Here's another shot of a different tune.

That looks like the sound is rolling off at 20KHz pretty abruptly. What is the sound card that you have? I have the SB Audigy, and if I record at 44.1KHz 16-bit, the card seems to roll the frequencies off for me. It must be the filters in the card quieting anything over the Nyquist "highest sampling rate". (half of the recording frequency)
Try sampling at 22.05 KHz and seeing if the line moves down to 11.025 KHz

Thanks graffias. I'll give that a shot and see what happens. I'm using an audiophile 24/96 soundcard.
