What are you up to right now?

I picked up Scarecrow by John Cougar Mellencamp on LP maybe a week ago for $1.50 and it sounds absolutely brilliant through my STAX SR-84 Lamda Jr.s

... One thing that I haven't noticed before is that the highs get 'fuzzier,' like there's static, the closer that the tonearm is to the centre of the record. The mids and bass are perfect.

Is this an alignment issue?

Listening to some Sade on vinyl.

The sound you explain is inner groove distortion. It could be your alignment, or tracking force setting. It could also be a damaged LP caused by mistracking in the past.

Browsing around on AK, listening to "Little Feat" on vinyl and waiting for supper to be ready. During supper, I'm watching a Bob Marley dvd.

Soapbox Opera is sending chills down my spine. I love it.

Toshiba PL-F770
Ortofon OMB10
Kenwood KR-6400
STAX SR-84 Lambda Jr.s

Low volume, loudness on.

Also shopping for carts. I've got a Shure M95ED and this Ortofon. I'm eyeing a Shure M91ED on the bay. Good by for sub-$50?
