The cabinet by itself is worth more than that...spent a few hours a couple of weeks ago sanding one down to remove the purplish varnish somebody put on it, for my 2275, and I paid more for it in that condition than this one. And it didn't come with a 'free' receiver...I think all the 22** Marantz use the same case, IIRC. They look so much better in their wood-clothes.

Curious that you posted this as I purchased this exact unit. The seller got so many responses that he was asking for offers. Everyone said they wanted to see it first and I just offered him $36 and picked it up that same day.
The case was kind of dull but some Danish wood juice perked it right up. When I opened it up I found that somebody at some point in time had put a candle on top of it and there was a bunch of wax inside. That came off pretty easy. Replaced a bunch of bulbs, cleaned up the pots and switches and it's good to go. Actually I sold the case on ebay for $75 so I'm in the positive and now I have to decide if it goes in the bedroom or basement (shop). I like that the metal cover has a sticker on it that says something like "Genuine wood vinyl veneer" (sexy).
I think it's too nice to sell, at least right away. Chances are I'll keep it for a while until something better catches my eye. Like the HK560 that I just picked up.
