Can anyone help me locate the specs for the good old Plessey Rola 12u50 speakers? I bought them in 1972 and they are in perfect condition but not in a cabinet. I want to build a new one for them and are after the specs to help in the design.

Here is Rola's enclosure design for that driver. Good luck. Cheers, Richard.

Sorry, I posted the wrong spec's you were after 12u50 not 12ux. My bad :( You could try the sealed enclosure as used for the 12px which was 3 cubic feet. The Rola specs state that the 12uX was used as the reference driver for all Rola 12" enclosures? So the 12uX enclosures might be the best option. Are you going to use a tweeter? The 12u50s top out at 11khertz. Cheers, Richard.
Richard, thanks for taking the time to post the specs for 12UX50. I take you're point about the UX being used as a reference. It's all I have, so I'll be in the workshop shortly preparing the enclosures. Peter

thanks for the welcome & sorry about not replying earlier. The Plessey Rola stuff was given to me buy a guy off eBay of all places. I have it in PDF form (2.6mg), and would be happy to email to anyone who wants it.

I've got a couple of bins (2x12" speakers plus horn ea) with a mix of Plessey Rola 12u50 and 12ux50 speakers. What is the difference between the U and the UX models?
I'm only planning on using them as foldback so I'm not really too concerned with making a vintage guitar cabinet sound as per some of the speaker nuts in here :-)
They are labelled as 8ohm but have been running from a 4ohm amp set up. Does that mean they have been wired in series or parallel? (non-electrical newbie here, if you hadn't picked it, lol)
