I found an add on CL for records and since I have such a puny collection I decided to give him a call. Over 300 he said so off I went, didn't understand what 300+ records looked like until I tried to fit them in the cab of my truck.

Franklin Mint Record Society The greatest county music of all time 27 two-album boxes all including the Franklin mint letter. Most appear un-played and one is still sealed. These are all red vinyl. Played a couple songs on one and it was DEAD SILENT.

3 sets of command performance in plastic. 20 albums total. The ones I have looked at seem to be in good shape.

I have played smatterings of several albums and they have all been really clean.

All the rest are single, about 20 are still sealed and a bunch of them have the ebay stuff stuck just inside the jacket. Guy said he bought them at an estate sale and needed the room in his garage.

I was just trying to figure out how to store my small collection when, bang it quadrupled and now I need to figure out which room to put it all in!! Won't fit in the living room so I think the office is the place it will go. Office needs cleaned out anyway.

Just had to tell someone.

Cool score.. Wait until your collection gets up to a few thousand, then try moving..

The IKEA Expedit units work great for record storage, and each compartment holds 60+ on average. They can be had from 2x4 compartments to 5x5. Around here they come up often on CL. I have way less than 100 in two, a 4x4 and a 5x5.

Thanks :D

That does scare me a bit. I keep telling myself to stop looking on CL, but it's like fishing ya just never know!! I hadn't really thought this whole get into records where do you put them thing until now. Just like anything necessity is the engine of ingenuity.

In the last year, I've fished up about 1500 or so.. and every so often, the bug hits, and until I score some more, I'm not happy.. doesn't matter that I haven't listened to about 700 of the ones I do have.. I just gotta have more.. and I know I'm not alone in this sickness.. :D

First, CONGRATULATIONS bsujepp, that's a good score for the day! Oh my similost, I have to agree the addiction bug is something else. However being the list person I am, I figure about 4,500 more and I'll have my list filled. But then again, it will be a lot more than that just to get all those top 40 albums I so desire. It will be just like the film Mr. Mom, first a wooby, then .....

Cool, thanks that just gives me one more reason to look on CL. Seriously though thanks for the heads up, I am definitely in need!!

Congrats Bill! Sounds like I just helped seed that collection a little bit, the Franklin Mint albums are a great score by themselves, very well recorded and very quiet. I am thinking about a trip to the Record Exchange later this week, PM me if your up for it. :thmbsp:
