View Full Version : The girls are out, and music is playing...
onepixel 08-02-2008, 01:20 AM My daughter's best friend is visiting from London for a couple of weeks and has been staying with us. So it's been non-stop gabbing, giggling and laughter till the wee hours of the morning. Earlier today they went shopping with my wife and now are at a party for friends who recently graduated.
Work was crazy and hectic this past week. The MOTY thing is over. The weekend has started.
I'm sitting by me-self now sipping a beer and spinning some vinyl I picked up on the way home. A handful of used semi-rare stuff and a couple of spanking new albums.
I feel so relaxed and content... and damn the record just ended. I have to get up.
Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
Johnny 08-02-2008, 01:23 AM Cheers!! Sounds like some well earned peace. Enjoy.
I raise my glass in your direction.
Drybasement 08-02-2008, 01:30 AM Hey, Happy Friday Carl although it ain't Friday for me no more.
Cheers
caddisgeek 08-02-2008, 01:31 AM Sounds nice, listening to the footy at the moment myself , go Bombers!(wife and youngest absent, eldest reading). Tunes to come later, have another beer for me pixel and enjoy the solitude
Cadillac Kid 08-02-2008, 01:38 AM I'm with ya, playing an album side and enjoying a cold one is so relaxing.
onepixel 08-02-2008, 01:44 AM Time out. They all just came back, wardrobe change! Christina shows me her new $280 dress that she got for $40. Gawd, they are gonna break some hearts. That took all of 5 mintues and they ran back out.
It's back to me and the music. Phew... I need a shot of bourbon. :)
Johnny 08-02-2008, 01:50 AM Quite the contrast eh? hehe. Good stuff man.
I'm afraid I cannot join you in the bourbon shot. But I'll pound down this half glass of Guinness Extra Stout - should come out even.
Cheers

There goes the neighbourhood!
Just cranking out some tunes myself... going over some stuff I haven't played since I switched to sansui - sounds great!

We have a "world" TV station here near Washington DC (WMHZ Channel 56) and we get football from Australia. I enjoy watching it, like nothing we have here.
qdrone 08-02-2008, 12:51 PM I came home late wedsnday to find the tuner had been left on and just sat enjoying a stogie and listening to the Music in the dark. It really recharged me,:thmbsp:
sqdlvr 08-02-2008, 04:01 PM I can relate onepixel...when I come home I like to relax with a couple Manhattans and a few lps to wind down just to get the edge of work out of my system...
onepixel 08-02-2008, 04:25 PM I went surfing early this morning, came home and mowed the lawn. Had lunch with the girls and they ran out again! Music time again. I'll have to drive them to a Japanese Obon festival later. There is a Japanese blues band that will be playing. They're called Karma... have to catch that!
IXLR8 08-02-2008, 07:55 PM Thought my wife had gone with her good friend to North Dallas. Had the volume up a little on the SX-1250 playing a 50 cent ELO Discovery cassette that sounds wonderful. She returned with money in hand saying she would trade me for my tape. The song she was thinking of was ELO not Queen, she was happy. I took my money and went looking for more tunes.
onepixel 08-02-2008, 08:02 PM Change of plans. The dance part of the festival is tomorrow and not today. Good thing... I mistook the Japanese Blues band's name. It isn't Karma... it's Bad Karma.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!Very cool, Carl... I'm working on that "Great Weekend" thing, it's starting out pretty good. :D Went to a winery today, found a very smooth dessert wine from Niagara grapes, delicious... I have half a case racked, and I'm about to open the first one. If anybody wants a glass, I hear it's best to finish a bottle and not re-cork, and I don't know if I'll make from here to the bottom of the bottle by myself at this hour.
Cheers, Friends! :beerchug:

Carl, you'll have to find a D/L somewhere if you don't have a copy. Hit 'em early... :D
onepixel 08-03-2008, 01:39 AM Ok you guys totally lost me on that.
btw... the last one just now got up!
Note: for anyone who is not Ozmoid, Justen, or myself...Oz was sleeping in at the fest and in grave danger of missing the free breakfast. Justen and I "Rick rolled" him out of bed with a portable audio system and saved him the pain and anguish of near starvation. Through some kind of dimensional warp, he seems to have experienced things much differently.
edit: you posted while I was typing. Hope that helps, Carl.

There you go, fixed it. Damn thing should have an ordinance against it's use before 10 A.M. http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=94906&d=1213323762
