Thought I would try something a little different here.

Since you can now find all of those old videos and songs because of the wild wacky web, I thought it might be cool if we shared some of those old "vintage" "strange" and "obscure" old tunes we used to listen to and like, that weren't so main stream.

Here's one I just happened to remember I really liked..

Time Zone doing World Destruction.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPHDQLuZaGo&feature=related

Post some of your old flashbacks... I've got stacks of songs like this I like, and was hoping to see if we can all turn each other onto something really different..

Don't know if it has a YT clip attached, but I always loved the Iggy Pop song "Here Comes Success," off Lust for Life. I've never heard it on the radio, or anywhere else for that matter. Does that qualify as obsure? :D

When i was a teenager, I called the local radio station at least 10 times one night requesting they play it. Finally the DJ was so irritated by my incessant calling he broke down and played it!

Do not know about the old and obscure tunes but I listen to AM1620 WNAR through the internet. It broadcasts old radio programs and Christian content. The station ran a series from Burn and Allen where Gracy was running for President of the U.S. Really interesting to hear of the thoughts, prejudices and thoughts about the distaff side back then and compare it to what happened with the first potential candidate. I did not hear every episode, sadly.

You're right.. its Dweezil Zappa and Ozzy Osbourne. The Ozzy version was the original recording for Dweezil's album "Confessions". Ozzy's record company wouldn't allow it so the vocals had to be replaced before release, which is what you hear on the youtube video.

The new vocalist was....

Are you ready?

Here’s an obscure LP and the even more obscure group The Tingling Mothers Circus from Psychedelic 1968. The LP is titled The Circus Of The Mind and is relatively rare I believe. Noted on the linked website, Featuring sessions guitarist Elliot Randall AKA “ Twangy Tingler”, who was also known for his solo guitar work on Steely Dan’s Reelin’ In The Years.

I have an unopened copy of this LP so I couldn’t tell you much about it. My only exposure to The Tingling Mothers Circus has been from YouTube vids and bits and pieces off the Internets.

Here is a link to a little something about them.
