View Full Version : technics sa-300 right channel dead
I have a Technics sa-300 that a friend gave me a few years ago and i decided to drag it out and try to get it working. After checking the fuses and wiggling some switches it came to life but the right channel is dead. I bought a stk0039 module and was going to replace it but i dont know which module is the right side. Can anyone help me identify the right and left module and what other problems should i look for ?

See if you can trace the leads from the
speaker terminals to the board and to their
corresponding outputs. It would be a good
idea to clean all switches and controls before
changing the pack. It’s always possible that
the amp itself is actually working but the
preamp input signal is not making it to the
IC pack.
Thanks, I will try this when i get home.

It should be the one closest to you when the amp is right side up and the faceplate facing you (like when you would use it).
I have the SA-400 and am going through a similar experience. I replaced the STK-0040 with STK-0050 (supposed to be more robust ICs), but I don't think I've remedied the problem that blew them in the first place b/c one of the resistors is getting REALLY hot now. I don't want to blow the ICs again so it's just sitting until I figure out what's wrong.
Good luck and let me know if you get yours fixed!
Also, I have the schematic for the SA-400, is should be similar if you want it.

Hey Guys , I have another SA-300 with the right side out. I have already replaced the STK0039 , still no output on the right side. By the way , IC number IC602 is the right side. ( IC601 is for the left speaker).
I have compaired voltages on these two output IC chips , and the Right side is WAY off. I tried swapping IC chips and the problem is still on the right side. All switched have been cleaned & De-Oeoxed.. There are several components that are getting pretty warm .
Does ANYONE have a schematic for this FINE piece of equipment ??
