Sansui G-22000 /G22000 with a blown protector relay
Hi im thinking about buying a G-22000 with a has an unprotected preamp output. Due to a Blown protector relay which has been jumpered out.
Is this a concern? What could go wrong? will the light at the front not work? how hard will it be to fix?
Thanks

The G-22000 has more relays than you can shake a stick at. The protection relays are in the amp section. It also has a pair of of relays that form a very robust "soft start circuit." So I'm not sure what you mean by an "unprotected preamp output." The preamp doesn't have a protection circuit. What relay is "jumpered out?"
All of this stuff needs to work properly. If it is not working, it is rarely caused by the relays. They are much more likely to be doing their job protecting the unit and your speakers from an untimely death. What can go wrong? Plenty, including fires. How hard is it to fix? Depends directly on the experience of the person fixing it. These big G's have very complecated protection circuits. Not a job for beginners.
