I would like everyone here to select th best examples of east and west coast speaker they own, and see of they sound any different facing the opposite coast...

If you wait till tomarow I will have my Baby Advent II's done being refoamed, then I can compare them to my JBL CF150's. I don't think you can get more polar opposite than that.

Well, we're off to a good start anyway, looking for "different" rather than better/worse. ;)

my B&Ws sound different from my Sansuis regardless of where they point to.

I have found that when my speakers point away from my ears there is a loss of volume.

That would one hell of a cable run depending on where you live.

Hilarious. :)

I'll try it with a set of Bertagni and some Paradigm to give us an accurate cross-reference of the North-South contingent.

We can compare notes later.

I find my new JBLs sound better facing west than east.

Of course if I turn them around to face east, they're firing right into the wall and sound oddly Bose like ....

On the other hand, RHCP sounds better on the Bostons and REM sounds better on the JBLs...

I ate wayyyy too much fair food last night....

My speakers were made in Ontario, and they sound best facing north.:scratch2:

and how're we doing with the DBX SF-10's, kretinus?

If I point my speakers towards the East, they then face the West Coast.

If I point my speakers towards the West, then they are facing the East Coast.

And which way am I supposed to face when listening?

 :headscrat I'm getting confused here...

:D

EPI vs Infinity. Chatsworth built Infinity wins. I live in NorCal and have owned the EPIs since new. But my personally rebuilt RS3000 (two way vs two way) have the edge whether facing Hawaii or Boston. EPIs are nice (they've been rebuilt too), but the west coast sound works out here :)

we finally stacked them neatly in the garage where they will be required to sit and think about the stress they've caused me.

Yikes! Fred Longworth is correct! I too have noticed that if I point my Speaker(s) away from my Ears that there is a loss of volume! We should have a SENATE investigation into this situation at once...
"how many more Mr. SPEAKER, how many more ?"

I've noticed when I put my JBL LSR6332's in the same room with my PMC EB1i's they don't seem to like each other. It's the ol' Yankee vs: Limey thing, I guess.
