Ok I FINALLY got my wife to D/L some pics off the laptop from our June/July vacation.

First up, me and the kidlet along the Napali Coast trail:

One of our favorite coves to snorkle. It's next to Secret Beach, and has better (eaiser) access.

We spent the 4th of July at Hanalei Bay (Puff the Magic Dragon fame), which is my wife's birthday. They allow you to set off fireworks on the beach, it was one of the best I can remember.

We got my daughter some surfing lessons, she got up on the first try!

Queen Emmas bath area? I'm not really sure so many of the beaches look the same.

Is that near the end of Kuhio Highway near Haena or did you hoof it into the Napali Coast somewhere?

Great pics wineslob! I never get tired seeing the islands!

Great pics. I hiked the Napali coast trail to the state park years ago, really enjoyed getting away from the roads and cars, and it's a tropical paradise. :thmbsp:

A couple of "scenic" pics:

These trees were everywhere. I'm not sure what they are called, but they were in bloom, and beautiful.

Mahaulepu Beach.

Wineslob, did you go the full 11 miles to Kalalau Valley / beach? That's a hike.

No we made it about a mile. My parents were with us and they are in their mid 70's. I was game to go to the branch off to the valley but the wife wasen't.

And finally, the very rare and endangered, Island Chicken! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

My wife and I ran over a couple driving up the ridge. Locals thanked us. Although I have to wonder, if you can't miss one swinging a dead cat, I'm thinking that they could have taken care of it by now. On the other hand, i suppose they make some handy impromptu dinners.

Did you get over to the coffee plantation?? Exceptional coffee.

My wife and I want to go back, last time was during dry season, so of course we had 6 days of heavy rains. On top of that, we were both sick.

Great second honeymoon, huh?

Here are a couple of underwater shots. Most of them are blue-shifted unless I took them at very shallow depths. The fish woulden't allow us to get very close, but sometimes close enough.

One of the larger turtles we swam with. This one was BIG.

Cool pics!

Next time take some imitation crab meat out with you when you go snorkeling. You'll be swarmed with fish and will be able to hand feed them.

Great additional pics, and good idea onepixel. We usually use catfood, but I've heard that's not so fish-healthy.

Headed there next Saturday, BTW.

We used to just use any leftovers... but figured something fishy would be more healthier.

Have a great time meggy... send us some pics!
