I was interested in this CL ad until I looked at the photo. Look closely at the crate of LPs in the bottom right corner.

Maybe they're all New Wave.

hmmm. doesn't bode well for the general condition if thats how they're treated. But if they're not too far away - they could still be worth a look.

I would think for $35 you could find enough in decent condition to easily warrant the expenditure.

I think it's funnier that the box in the upper left says "Hospitality" ;)

Yeah.. for $35 I would look.. so long as it was a short drive.. I wouldn't be expecting much though with the way they are stacked, and all the loose ones without covers.. you just never know if you don't take the gamble though..

Lawrence Welk & Mitch Miller is what I usually find.

I should have said, "Newly Waved."

Hey for $35 youre close enough to warrant alook you should be able to find enough to cover the trip its only 18-30 miles from where you are in navarre.

The last time I made one of those "it's only a half hour away, so why not" trips I came home empty handed. With about 200 lps the seller had, there wasn't a single one I would take. The photo just really turns me off to this listing. I can't for the life of me understand why somebody would post a pic like that if they were trying to sell lps. My gut tells me warped, scratched, broken lps and trashed covers.

What your gut doesn't tell you is that there are about a hundred really rare, valuable LPs in the better boxes there, including super-rare early blues and not one but two butcher covers, etc... and that bending on the bottom right box is recent, because the things were stacked up before taking the picture, and none of those LPs are actually bent or broken, just the covers are getting strained from the weight atop them... OH, and there are just as many boxes upstairs that didn't get moved yet: those are pristine, and the really good ones they just didn't bother photographing. They are right next to the old Thorens turntable... which you can have if you really want it. It doesn't work any more, because the needle got pulled off [But yes, they still have it.]
Okay, I'm being over-optimistic and they are probably really warped and semi-moldy Debbie Boone and Max Bygraves LPs... but you will never know if you don't take a look. For $35, if they are local, it's worth a little time to at least find out!

FWIW, you have to turn over a lot of rocks to find the good stuff. Sometimes you score, but often you don't
It would be simple to email for a partial list or even rough genres. There are a LOT of LPs there; 200 easy. A couple good ones could make the trip worthwhile, and the rest can go to Sally Ann.
