I am sure this has been asked before in some way or another, but I, being a noob, want to know the two most frequented albums on your turntable. Remember, this is for the two albums that you play the most, not the favorites that never come out. Let's add a twist too. After naming your two most played albums, list the two genres you listen to the most as well. I look forward to hearing your choices. I'll go ahead and list mine.

(1) Tomita - Snow Flakes Are Dancing

(2) The Alan Parson's Project - I Robot

(3) Genres - Classic Rock, and Pop :scratch2:

I know my two album choices don't match my most listened to genres completely, but it is what it is. I am in another place while listening to these two albums, and never get sick of them! :music:

Ever?

hmmm. I go through stages... It would be interesting to actually know what the stats were on your own listening throughout the years. I lived in Bolivia for a while and heard three lifetimes of Cher (without my consent!).

Axis bold as love: Jimi Hendrix Experience

Emporer Tomato Ketchup - Stereolab

Genre: rock / jazz :smoke:

I love me some Jimi as well. :thmbsp: I just don't have enough good quality on vinyl.

1. Led Zeppelin-Physical Graffiti
2. Rush-Fly By Night

So that makes progressive and blues rock my favorites. I guess Zep would be blues rock, whatever. They're amazing however you slice it. And the list could go on, Rush 2112, Led Zep II, Hendrix Are you Experinced...:music:

Two more of my favorite bands! I'm a drummer, so you gotta know I cherish Neil, and John on the drums. After sipping another one, I couldn't help but to contemplate a part two, if this does well. It could be your favorite songs on these albums. :scratch2:

When someone says "What's your favorite two hundred albums?" Then I will be able to answer. Two is just impossible for me.

Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon. I love it, and it also reminds me of some of the best/better times in my life.

Sigur Ros: ( ). The name of the album is "( )", the band is Icelandic. I listen to it maybe three times a week. Recently put an Eico el-84 tube integrated amp with some Rega speakers in my bedroom system, and this was the first album I played. I fell in love with it all over again, as they say. A beautiful album, sad in an uplifting way, if that makes sense.

Beyond this, I couldn't pick a top five. They next ones change depending on my mood, but the top two rarely do.

The Doors - L.A. Woman
Elton John - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy

Genres listened to - anything but rap or folk.

What's (="is", singular) my favorite two (=2, plural) albums? :nono:

What ARE my favorite two albums?

I might try to answer the question if it were asked in a grammatically correct fashion.

Sorry, couldn't resist. It isn't just you; sometimes my "grammar sensometer" just hits the overload point, from reading and hearing so much bad English online. You just happened to come along at such a moment.

After a few breaths and a little calming down, I will say this: I like your choice of a Tomita LP. I have several quadraphonic Tomita LPs, and they are quite interesting. I wouldn't rank them among the top two, but I do enjoy listening to them!

Otherwise, I tend to go through periods where a few LPs will be in heavy rotation, then I will move on to a few others. It depends on my general mood and what is going on in my life, and how I am feeling; tired or energetic, mellow or aggressive, etc... There are no two that consistently remain in frequent play, although some have been in my collection (first as vinyl, then as CDs, then as vinyl again) for several decades.

I'm not sure if I can limit it to just two faves, but these are the ones I listen to a lot:

(1) Badfinger “Wish You Were Here”
(2) Abba: “Gold”

The second is no joke.

Sorry such little things in life make you hyperventilate! :yuck: I'm guessing my handle made you cringe too. "Ask me again in an hour, and this answer will be different." I agree with this 100%. I should have chosen my words, and choices more carefully in the beginning. Too much to drink that night! :drunk: The idea came to me in a drunken stooper while celebrating my birthday, and I rushed it so I could get back to the celebrating part..........spinning vinyl, and drinking more of course!! :music:

Do you mean albums as in LPs, or any "full-length" release? The medium makes all the difference, that's for sure. If I'm playing records, I go back to classic rock mostly. I really, really love laying down next to the stereo and listening to albums that beg to be played all the way through. I'm a busy guy and can't do that just whenever, so it's special to me when I can. Popular choices for me are Yes- Close to the Edge, Paul McCartney- Ram, Beatles- Revolver and White Album, The Who-Tommy and Quadrophenia, Pink Floyd- DSOTM. But my two favorite albums to bliss out to are...

-Pink Floyd- Saucerful of Secrets. Good variety. goodly heap of mind-blowing sonic journeying and freaking out, catchy sixties pop songs by Richard Wright, and possibly the most demented song by Syd Barrett, all crammed onto one LP. Whoa.

-Neil Young- Tonight's the Night- the Reprise reissue was done extra 'specially well- fabulously stable image, just the right sound level and frequency range (that is, absolutely no wonky vinyl-related sounds at all).

In the digital realm it would have to be Can- Soon over Babaluma (fantastically remastered, along with other early Can albums the past coupla years) and Cosmic Jokers- Galactic Supermarket. or is it Miles Davis- On the Corner? I'd love to have all those on vinyl, I'll probably get them someday.

Very hard to name just two, but there is one that is played ALOT, and it's Phantom Of The Opera with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman. I think it's Sir Weber's best stuff.

Any way we can conduct that as a poll and post the winners?

I'd be willing to provide some of the calculation power.

Hmmm.... At this is right off the top of my head without copious study, etc.

Genesis - Wind and Wuthering
Renaissance - Live at Carnegie Hall

Very close third...
Ravel's: Daphnis et chloe - Charles Dutoit, and Choeur et Orchestre symphonique de Montreal

Zoot Sims - Europa Jazz
Beck - Modern Guilt (at least in the last month or so)

I was going to second 'Physical Graffiti' but I find the LPs are pretty harsh to listen to compared to some of the remastered CDs. Sacrilege, I know.
