A genuine legend in an industry that always produced (and still does) more self-proclaimed ones ones than the real thing. RIP, Mr Wexler.

To say that Jerry Wexler had an important life would be the understatement of the decade. One of the most influential behind-the-scenes guys in popular music history. Period.

Jerry had forgotton more music than the whole field of producers know today. He was not only a pioneer but a historian as well. He truly had all the tools needed to make real music. He will be missed!!

Here's an article about him at CNN - notice the stack of McIntosh gear on the shelf behind him.

RIP, Jerry. The world of music is richer for your life, and poorer for your passing.

"If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock and roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band" and now a great record producer--

(with apologies to Bill Medley, Bobby Hatfield)
