The company in question here - Triode Corporation of Japan - has been around for many years, and one of the things I really like about this product line is that it offers Japanese high-end quality at Chinese prices (much like Almarro). For example, the 300B SET integrated amp shown above retails for $1995, and yet it is top-drawer in nearly every way, from sonics to build quality to aesthetics. I received mine a week ago, and although it is not yet fully burned in, I can now say with confidence that this is my top pick for CD players in the $2K price range. I am also extremely impressed with TRI's 300B SET integrated amp. The wonderful midrange of this unit evokes memories of my old Cary 300-SEI (the original version - I never much cared for the newer, 15-watt model), but the TRI is superior to the Cary at the frequency extremes.
