I have sold quite a few items audio and otherwise on Ebay, and I have decided that I will not ship outside the continental US again. I'm Done! It is just not worth the PITA, the time assination, getting needed info, filling out forms, dealing with lost packages, USPS labels that will not print, and then waiting 3 weeks for the refund. It is just not worth it, unless you are selling a piece of high end equipment or something of higher value. There are too many good buyers in the Continental US, that can consumate the deal, and accept delivery in 4-6 days. The deal is done and you can move on. Sorry to rant, but this last transaction to Australia has been a total PITA!:thumbsdn:
Regards,
Jim

Thanks-I feel better now!

That's too bad ehoove. I understand the extra time involved in shipping internationally as I buy and sell 95% of my stuff that way. Customs and courrier fees can be a real PITA too, but a nessessary evil for me if I want something...

I'm new here so hopefully this will post okay.
When shipping to Canada, anything marked as
a value of $20.00 or more is subjet to provincial
taxes and gst. If the value of the package is $20.01,
taxes are charged on the full amount. If they catch it.
This seems hardly ethical as provincial tax is not charged
when a purchase is made from any other province. Even
at the retail level. I believe the tax is to recoup duty.
The exception to this tax grab is if the item is marked
as GIFT. Then the exemption is $60.00. The recipient
is charged tax on the amount above $60.00. If you need
insurance then you need to claim the full amount. Otherwise?

We will no longer deal with UPS or FEDEX under any
circumstancesoutrageous brokerage fees and taxes that
do not applywith the post office. They bill the seller AND
the purchaser.
Great scam! Google UPS complaints. Interesting. Hope this helps.

I've had good luck with international shipping using priority mail. I do it all from the web site, or through paypal. Once you know how to do it, it only takes a minute longer than domestic. The advantage to doing it through paypal is that most of the information is already entered for you. The big disadvantage is that you can't buy insurance for international through paypal. If you try to add insurance at the post office, you lose the online discount!

The only items I won't ship internationally are large items because there's a size limit. I've shipped items (some of them worth hundreds of $) to all kinds of far away places, and the only item that was lost got lost in San Francisco.
