View Full Version : I can't believe it's on the radio
I was just listening to KNCT (Killeen, TX), and I can't believe they still have stuff like that on the radio. It's a college station from Central Texas College, but it's not you typical college station. It's 24/7 easy listening. Well, actually, it makes easy listening sound hard. Every so often I like to tune in just for the novelty. They just played the musac version of "Do You Know The Way To San Jose". I'm still trying to figure out who their target audience is.
Does anyone else get a station that seems out of place, or is just surprising to find in 2008?

The radio here in NC is awful. The only few bright spots are the college stations here but even then its a mine-field to walk through to get something listenable. Thrusdays from 6 - 9 pm one station plays rythym & blues. That is the only porgram that I really bother to try and listen to if I can. Other than that - classic rock (didn't they put any OTHER songs on those albums?) and country. nothing else even on the dial except NPR.

KVHU 95.3 in Searcy, AR (Harding University) tends to broadcast old time radio shows every week. Probably the more unique sort of broadcast around here.

You guys all need to try XM radio.
Every Saturday night is the Rockabilly Roadtrip (and repeated 3 times during the week). Every Sunday night is the French Quarter, Dixieland Jazz. And they have big band swing, 60's music, 70's music ("I got a brand new pair of roller skates, You got a brand new key.")
Classic country, outlaw country, bluegrass, folk music, classical, Jazz, Blues, standards, new wave, etc etc etc.
Not to mention old time radio shows, comedy, sports, and news/talk.
