Finally set up a system with extremely nice synergy. It consists of my ADS L780s and my Kenny Ka-8100 integrated amp.

I ran the two together for a while, but recently re-did the amp and bypassed the ADS' fuses so they both sound far better than when I first got em.

Sources are my Sony SACD player, Macbook Pro (lossless into an iMic DAC) and my Pro-Ject Debut III turntable. I rarely need to push this system past 20wpc and at that point its very loud. My listening room leaves much to be desired, but it still sounds pretty great to my ears.

My musical interests vary greatly. I listen to classic rock primarily, the 80s being my favorite decade.

Some albums which sound unbelievable on this setup are:

Yes - Fragile, Men at Work - Business as Usual, Ultravox - Vienna, Bad Company (OST), Scorpions - World Wide Live and Novo Combo's self-titled LP.

I know my system is very modest compared to many of yours, so I imagine some AK'ers are basking in the joy of vintage synergy to a much higher degree. Lets hear those stories, people! :thmbsp:

Bad Company? For real?

That's awesome man. I'm a huge Bad Company, ZZ Top, BTO kinda guy. Those guys had hooks and knew how to use them!

It matters not what you have. It only matters that what you have you enjoy.

Play some Dire Straits. That will wake the system up.

Now you're talkin' my language!

Congrats on finding the magic combo.

I have an HDCD of Dire Straits greatest, but it doesn't do them justice.

I have Bros in Arms and Communique as well as the debut LP and those are truly something, on any of my systems!
